Applications are invited for the regular position of part-time Athletics Assistant in the Athletics and Student Engagement Division. The starting hourly wage is $28.01/hr for a 24-hour work week. Additional hours may be required at peak times during the year such as start or end of term. Location may vary but will be based on the Welland campus OR the Daniel J. Patterson campus.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Athletics and Student Engagement, the successful candidate will support the Athletics and Student Engagement division by creating and maintaining social media content, website updates, photography, and graphic design materials. The role promotes varsity athletics, recreation, and student engagement initiatives while ensuring all content aligns with Niagara College and NC Knights branding standards. Adaptable scheduling is required to support timely content creation and event coverage.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement social media content and engagement strategies to support varsity athletics, recreation programs, and student engagement initiatives
- Maintain and update departmental website content to ensure information is current, accurate, and engaging
- Capture and edit photography for varsity sporting events, recreation activities, and student engagement events
- Design and create graphics for social media, websites, presentations,
and other promotional materials in alignment with Niagara College and NC Knights branding standards
Qualifications:
- Two (2) year diploma in any field of study with training in sports photography, graphic design, social media and website skills
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in sports photography, building presentations, website development and graphic design
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to safely push, pull, and lift objects weighing 20 lbs. (9 kg) or more
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, data entry, and organizational and time management skills
