Bakery Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and hands-on Bakery Manager to oversee daily bakery operations in our small, non-traditional bakery specializing in pies. The ideal candidate is passionate about baking and food production, has strong leadership and organizational skills, and is committed to quality, food safety, and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

- Oversee daily bakery operations, including production, baking, packaging, customer service, and cleanliness.

- Plan and manage daily production and baking schedules based on orders, demand, inventory, and staffing.

- Schedule, supervise, train, and support staff, ensuring productive workflow and adequate coverage.

- Prepare and bake pies, tarts, and other products while maintaining consistent quality, recipes, and presentation.

- Manage ingredient and supply ordering, inventory levels, receiving, and proper storage.

- Monitor food costs, portion control, waste, and product availability.

- Coordinate customer, special, and wholesale orders to ensure accuracy and timely completion.

- Ensure all products are properly packaged, labelled, stored, and prepared for sale or pickup.

- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety.





- Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and report maintenance needs.

- Provide friendly, professional customer service and resolve customer concerns as needed.

- Lead by example and contribute to a positive, reliable, and team-oriented workplace.

Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in baking, commercial cooking, food production, or bakery operations preferred.

- Previous supervisory or management experience is an asset.

- Experience with ordering, inventory management, staff scheduling, and production planning.

- Strong baking, food preparation, food handling, and sanitation skills.

- Excellent organization, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.

- Comfortable in a hands-on role and willing to assist with all aspects of bakery operations.

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred but not required.

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
