The Skilled

The position

The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of banquet events. They will manage banquet staff, ensure the highest level of service, and ensure all events run smoothly. This individual must always maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to all Club policies and procedures. They must have strong communication skills while providing exceptional Member and Guest service.

DUTIES:

- Supervise and manage employees to ensure Members and Guests are served promptly in a courteous manner at all times
- Prepare weekly schedules one to two weeks in advance in relation to anticipated business demands for all Front of House staff
- Train and coach all F&B; Front of House employees and ensure high standards of service
- Develop, maintain and update an ongoing training manual
- Process and submit banquet invoices to the Accounting Department within 48 hours after event is completed.




- Review Daily Guarantee Sheets and note any changes directly to the Banquet Event Orders
- Conduct daily meetings with service Staff informing them of upcoming function details
- Perform a physical review of Banquet space to ensure the proper set-up and working order of all audio-visual equipment no later than 30 minutes prior to the start time of an event
- Meet, greet, and remain with the convener of an event to provide assistance
- Assign service stations and side duties to service Staff
- Provide continuous communication with the Kitchen regarding the status of an event
- Assign tear down and next day set up duties to service Staff
- Maintain adequate bar stock levels at all times
- Perform closing inventory of Bar and sign bar sheet
- Log and safeguard any valuables to be picked up at a later date
- Perform all other tasks as assigned by Management

Supervision Received

- Reports to and receives functional direction from the Catering & Events Manager.

- Maintains internal/external contact with all Members, Management and Staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of 1 - 3 years' supervisory experience in a hospitality and;
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the hospitality sector
- Valid Smart Serve certification

REQUIREMENTS:





- Experience in the Club industry as asset but not required
- Experience with JONAS Software an asset but not required
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
- Able to bend, lift, and stand for extended periods
- Experience in a hospitality setting is an asset but not required
- Strong communication skills
- Self-starter with attention to detail

HOURS OF WORK:

Varying work schedule to include mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business required.

- May-December: approximately 25-40 hours per week
- January - April: approximately 20-35 hours per week
