THE POSITION The BOM (Bill of Materials) Processing Administrato****r is responsible for maintaining accurate product, engineering and manufacturing data throughout the product lifecycle. This role coordinates engineering change orders, releases engineering designs into NetSuite and ensures bills of materials, parts, assemblies, routings, purchasing information and supporting documentation are complete and accurate before products move into production.

The successful candidate will also support the collection, organization and creation of engineering project documentation for products developed for the automotive industry. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Quality, this role will support product development, pilot builds, production releases and corporate quality initiatives through accurate data management, document control and process support.

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT

- Coordinate Engineering Change Orders through each review, approval and release stage, ensuring all required changes are completed and documented
- Release approved engineering designs, parts, assemblies and bills of materials into NetSuite
- Create, update and maintain accurate part, assembly and BOM records within the ERP system
- Audit products, components and bills of materials to identify and correct data, revision or configuration discrepancies
- Compare information within the Product Data Management system against ERP records to ensure engineering documents, drawings, revisions, BOMs and manufacturing data are aligned




- Coordinate product releases to production by confirming required documentation, routings, purchasing settings and manufacturing information are complete and accurate
- Review purchase requests and work orders created by Engineering to confirm prototype and test materials are ordered correctly and are expected to arrive within required project timelines
- Support First Light Safety Products New Product Development, SMG New Product Introduction and Manufacturing Engineering teams with project data entry, documentation and data management
- Participate in the collection, organization and creation of engineering project documentation related to products developed for the automotive industry
- Assist with the creation, documentation and auditing of internal processes that support corporate quality initiatives
- Create and maintain alternate bills of materials when approved substitutions or manufacturing requirements apply
- Assist with pilot build planning and coordination, including material readiness, documentation and follow-up on identified issues
- Monitor engineering and production-release activities and follow up with stakeholders to address missing information, documentation or approvals
- Depending on experience, support the maintenance of the product configurator and sales part-number lists

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

- Engineering changes are processed accurately and move through the required review and release stages without unnecessary delays.
- NetSuite contains accurate, complete and current product, part, assembly and BOM information.
- Engineering drawings, revisions and product structures remain aligned between the PDM and ERP systems.
- Products released to production have the required BOMs, routings, documentation and purchasing settings in place.
- Data errors and inconsistencies are identified and corrected before they affect purchasing, manufacturing, pilot builds or customer commitments.
- Prototype and test materials are ordered correctly and available when required to support project timelines.
- Alternate BOMs and approved product configurations are clearly documented and controlled.
- New product development, new product introduction and manufacturing engineering teams receive timely and accurate administrative support.




- Outstanding actions, approvals and documentation requirements are tracked and communicated clearly to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Product and engineering information is maintained with a high level of accuracy, consistency and attention to detail.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE

- Diploma in Engineering Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain or production environment.
- Experience working with bills of materials, engineering drawings and controlled product-release or engineering change processes.
- Experience creating and maintaining parts, assemblies, BOMs or other product records within an ERP system.
- Experience with NetSuite is an asset.
- Experience working with Product Data Management or Product Lifecycle Management systems is an asset.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including the ability to organize, review and compare detailed data.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies across drawings, BOMs, part records and system data.
- Understanding of manufacturing, purchasing, inventory and production processes.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple changes, releases and project priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow up effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Purchasing.
- Ability to work independently, maintain accurate records and follow established approval and document-control processes.
- Experience supporting pilot builds, new product introduction or engineering projects is an asset.
- Experience maintaining product configurators, sales part-number lists or configurable BOM structures is an asset.
