The Building Maintenance Technician will contribute to the day-to-day maintenance and mechanical operations of UWCRC 2.0 Inc.'s multi-family residential and commercial portfolio.

This is a portfolio-wide maintenance position, and the successful candidate will perform duties at various properties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or designate.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team. A skilled and respectful approach to tenants, staff, and contractors is essential.

Wage: offer between $20.00 to $25.00 per hour

Employment Type: Full-Time

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Work Week: 40 hours per week

Location: Various UWCRC 2.0 Inc. properties in Winnipeg

On-Call: Participation in the after-hours emergency on-call rotation is required.

Compensation and benefits will be discussed with candidates selected for an interview.

UWCRC 2.0 Inc. is seeking a skilled, reliable, and customer-service-oriented Building Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair basic to intermediate plumbing, heating, and electrical issues.
- Repair windows, blinds, doors, switches, plugs, fixtures, equipment, carpet, vinyl, and other building components.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair residential appliances.
- Perform painting, drywall patching, mudding, taping, and related repairs.
- Conduct daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas and report deficiencies.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Interact respectfully and professionally with tenants, site staff, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Supervise contractors during scheduled repairs and inspections.
- Complete tenant move-in and move-out condition reports and follow up on discrepancies.
- Perform preventative maintenance and assist Building Operators and other maintenance staff with scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
- Identify faulty operations, defective materials,



and building deficiencies and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Safely operate power tools, equipment, and other maintenance tools as required.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Provide backup maintenance coverage at all UWCRC 2.0 Inc. properties as required.
- Assist with garbage, trash, and recycling removal.
- Clean and restore work areas after completing repairs.
- Perform seasonal snow clearing and other exterior maintenance duties as assigned.
- Participate in the after-hours emergency on-call rotation, typically in one-week cycles.
- Assist with monitoring building safety and security systems as required.
- Program, troubleshoot, and repair access control systems, including intercoms, fobs, and SALTO hardware.
- Assist with occasional custodial duties, including janitorial work, suite cleaning, and touch-ups.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or designate.

Qualifications & Skills The successful candidate should have:

- Minimum two years of related maintenance experience.
- A 5th Class Power Engineer certificate is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of building systems and building operations is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, twist, kneel, crouch, shovel, walk, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to use a smartphone or mobile device for texting and email communication.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Ability and willingness to travel between UWCRC 2.0 Inc. properties.
- Basic working knowledge of applicable Provincial Building Codes and Regulations.
- Satisfactory criminal record check.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
