As a Halal Butcher Assistant, you will support the butchery team by handling meat products with care, ensuring proper food handling practices, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Duties

- Assist the head butcher with meat cutting, trimming, and portioning according to specifications
- Prepare meat products for display and packaging, ensuring accurate weights and presentation
- Handle food products safely by following proper food safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Support the packaging process to ensure products are securely wrapped and labeled correctly
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Provide friendly customer service by answering questions about meat cuts and product options




- Support inventory management by organizing stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies or quality issues

Experience

- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation or kitchen settings, is preferred
- Knowledge of butchery techniques and meat cutting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and food safety standards is essential
- Experience with packaging meats for retail or wholesale environments is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines diligently
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards assisting customers
- Prior kitchen or culinary experience will be considered an advantage
