ABOUT THE POSITION

Nahanni Construction Ltd. is accepting resumes for Carpenters to work at our various project sites. The successful candidates will work on a rotational schedule in a remote work camp environment.

SCOPE

- Building forms and stripping forms.

- Pouring concrete.

- Operating hand tools and power-actuated tools.

- Installing heating/hoarding, temporary fencing, guardrails, handrails, and barriers as required.

- Participating in daily toolbox talks.

- Reviewing and preparing daily Field Level Hazard Assessments.

- Participating in weekly safety meetings.

- Advising supervision of unsafe conditions or acts that may be dangerous to oneself and other workers.

- Read, interpret, and act on instructions from supervision.

- Prepare layout, including selecting materials, planning sequences, and work methods.

- Installing shoring.

- Ensuring tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.

- Report all incidents/accidents, including “near misses.”

- Scaffold and access build.

REQUIREMENTS





- Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter or completion of vocational school.

- Two years’ experience as a Journeyperson Carpenter is required.

- Industrial construction experience would be an asset.

- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

- Ability to learn quickly and keep up with tight schedules.

- Flexible and adaptable to change.

- Strong organization and communication skills.

- Able to complete physically demanding work with significant periods of standing and kneeling.

- Nahanni pays for, and books travel to and from the project site. In addition, employees are entitled to a rotational travel allowance.
