Job Opportunity

Casual Childcare Workers will work cooperatively with the Early Childhood Educators to create a supportive, nurturing, and safe environment for the children in our care and their parents. Other duties include:

- Provide physical care and stimulation for children ages 0 – 6 years (this includes guiding and assisting with proper eating, dressing, and hygiene habits).

- Assist with implementing age-appropriate developmental activities for children.

- Model behaviour that nurtures and supports healthy relationships.

- May help with preparing children’s meals and snacks.

- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

- Experience working with children ages 0-6.

- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level I, II, or III is not required but is an asset.

- Experience in an Early Learning environment is an asset.

- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate, Food Protected Certificate is an asset.

Requirements

- Lifting (up to 40 lbs.), frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, sitting on the floor.

- Acceptable results of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search are required before hire.

Working Conditions

- In-person at the Early Learning & Family Centre, Rosewood location.

- Primarily work indoors, with some outside work with a group of children.

Position Details

- Casual employees work on an as-needed basis during the hours of operation of the work location.

- The schedule is determined based on operational need and may be subject to change.

- There is no guarantee of hours.

- Applicants with certification in Early Childhood Education will receive the wage enhancement for this position.
