All of that purpose guides how we work, how we make decisions, and how we grow The Role The Cluster House Mentor supports the Cluster Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Cluster House while providing guidance, direction, and peer support to Direct Support Workers. Acting as a positive role model, the Mentor assists with onboarding and training new team members and supports staff development to promote a collaborative, effective, and high-quality team environment.

How you’ll make a difference

- Help create a positive work environment and maintain positive, professional relationships within the location.
- Assist with staff accountability, training, mentoring, and guidance, and provide encouragement and support to team members.
- Identify and report areas for improvement or unresolved concerns to the House Leader or Cluster Manager.
- Demonstrate professional boundaries and conduct in accordance with Simaril Inc. policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.




- Provide direct support to individuals with daily living skills, including hygiene, budgeting, healthy relationships, peer interaction, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
- Promote independence, choice, personal growth, and community participation through appointments, recreational activities, social opportunities, and outings.
- Administer medications according to established procedures and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
- Support positive behaviours and respond to crisis situations using prevention, intervention, and de-escalation strategies.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and team members while providing emotional support and companionship.
- Assist with administrative responsibilities, including financial records, appointments, MAR sheets, menus, file archiving, meetings, and medication-related reporting.
- Assist with home maintenance checks, WHS inspections, and actively participate in at least one committee.

Your working hours will be:
- Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Thursday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

What You Need to Be Successful
- The House Mentor must perform at a higher level in the Direct Support Worker role
- Effective communication with the Cluster Manager and coworkers is essential
- The House Mentor’s work email must be actively used
- A good understanding of computers and programs, including Microsoft 365, is necessary




- The House Mentor may be required to work some overtime hours, with paid compensation, to provide additional support beyond regular work hours
- Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a social services setting
- Flexibility to work occasional paid overtime to provide additional support when required
- Ability to perform physical duties, including walking, bending, and lifting
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with frequent noise and regular interaction with staff and individuals

Extended background checks including the following:
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Child Abuse Registry Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
