Role Description The Commercial Estimator at Toitures Brault / Brault Roofing is a full-time, on-site role based in Halifax, NS.

The Commercial

Estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for commercial roofing projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. This role involves reviewing architectural plans and specifications, conducting site visits to assess project conditions, and collaborating with project managers and supervisors to define project scope and timelines.

Estimator will analyze bids, track project costs against estimates, and update pricing databases to support accurate, competitive quotes. The role also includes coordinating with suppliers, maintaining organized estimate documentation, and supporting client presentations and negotiations as needed.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Construction Estimating, with experience preparing detailed cost breakdowns for commercial projects.
- Knowledge of Roofs and roofing systems, including materials, installation methods, and industry standards.




- Competence in Budgeting and financial analysis to develop accurate, competitive proposals and monitor project costs.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Project Management abilities to coordinate timelines, resources, and documentation throughout the bidding and execution process.
- Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and relevant construction management tools.
- Attention to detail, solid analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Previous experience in commercial construction or roofing is an asset; technical training or a diploma/degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work in office in Halifax, NS, conduct site visits, and collaborate closely with field and office teams.
