About Us:

Buhler Versatile Inc. is a leading tractor and tillage manufacturing company dedicated to innovation, quality, and excellence. We are expanding our procurement team and seeking a skilled Commodity Specialist to manage strategic sourcing and supplier relationships for key commodities critical to our production process.

What You’ll Do

- As a Commodity Specialist (Purchasiong), you’ll take ownership of specific commodities and supplier relationships to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery performance. You’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to drive efficiency, innovation, and cost savings across our supply chain.
- Identify and execute on cost reduction strategies
- Keep abreast of internal new product development initiatives or product changes
- Proactively manage end of life products and work with suppliers to make certain production is not impacted by potential changes in supply
- Act as a liaison between Supplier and Engineering on Supplier proposals for new products, design deviations, and cost savings opportunities
- Manage and improve relationships with Suppliers at a strategic level under commodity responsibilities
- Set up contract templates with Suppliers
- Control NON-Disclosure Agreements, (NDAs), Supply Agreements, Development Agreements, Letters of Intent, and tooling requirements/costs
- Place initial First Article Inspections (FAI) Purchase Orders with Suppliers and manage timely receipt and approval of goods.
- Investigate and resolve Purchase Order (PO) price discrepancies
- Support Quality Assurance (QA) in supplier quality issues
- Assist Buyers in managing supply disruptions, as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Post-secondary education in supply chain preferred




- Experience working with a large number of SKUs
- Minimum of 2 years of sourcing/purchasing experience, industrial background preferred Familiarity with development of suppliers, their periodic performance reviews, and supply risk mitigation strategies.
- Some technical background: ability to read drawings and technical specifications
- Well-organized, detail oriented and task focused.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge of Kanban programs
- Strong analytical , negotiating and problem solving skills
- Contract management experience in international contracts' reading and revisions
- MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes), ERP systems
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise between Engineering, Quality, Operations and Suppliers.
