We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dependable Community Inclusion Support Worker to support a young adult in building a meaningful, fulfilling, and connected life within their community.

Reporting directly to the family, the successful candidate will encourage and support participation in community activities, help foster meaningful relationships through clubs, programs, and social opportunities that reflect the individual's interests, and assist with developing independence and everyday life skills. This is a part-time position averaging approximately 25 hours per week.

The individual being supported is a friendly young adult with many passions, including dirt biking, story writing, computer games and their cat. They are also a Special Olympics athlete! They are excited to expand their involvement in the community by exploring new groups, clubs, and recreational opportunities while continuing to build confidence, independence, and practical life skills.

The ideal Support Worker will be creative, patient, and proactive in identifying opportunities that align with the individual's interests, strengths, and personal goals.

This role is key in supporting them to:

We are looking for someone who is engaging, adaptable, and enthusiastic-a person who is willing to connect with the individual’s interests and provide support both at home and in the community. The correct candidate will be comfortable around cats and dogs.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Requirements

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Reliable, dependable, and highly organized

· Demonstrated understanding of inclusion and community engagement

· Ability to problem-solve and adapt in dynamic situations

· Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence

· Reliable vehicle with minimum $2 million liability insurance

· Explicit Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

· Valid First Aid and CPR certification

· Ability to travel from client’s home near Fairview to Grande Prairie 2 or 3 times a week for scheduled activities

Assets

· Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or diverse support needs

· Familiar with computer games

· Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) or equivalent

· Trauma-informed care training

· Abuse Prevention Response Protocol (APRP) training

This position is with an adult and family under a PDD Family Managed Support agreement

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
