Position available- Support workers are needed to assist individuals (children and adults) with special needs, cognitive delays, physical disabilities, mental health issues, etc. Services are offered mostly in the community, but some in-home assistance may be required. Depending on the needs of the client, services may include companionship and/or relief care, while assisting with errands, appointments, budgeting, daily skills, leisure activities, etc.

This position is of a teaching nature and the goal is to help the client be as self-sufficient as possible. Community support workers teach clients how to be independent within their home and community and to make their own informed decisions based on their age and ability.

Weekly schedules are negotiable, starting with part-time hours. Full-time hours may eventually be available for those who request a larger case load.





Community support workers must transport clients and therefore have their own reliable vehicle with proper insurance and winter tires. Transportation/mileage expenses are reimbursed on top of hourly wages. Group health benefits are also available.

Minimum education requirement --> Human Services Diploma, Child & Youth Care Diploma, Educational Assistant Diploma, Daycare Assistant Diploma, University Degree in social sciences, or equivalent.

Please note: PSW (Personal Support Worker) or other personal care training does not qualify for this position. This is NOT a homemaker or home care position. Housekeeping and bathing are not required.
