POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of eHealth, the Community Telemedicine Lead acts as the main liaison between KO eHealth Virtual Care and the Community Telemedicine Coordinators (CTCs). This role involves overseeing CTCs and the CTC eHealth Assistants to ensure reliable virtual care delivery across the district.

The Community Telemedicine

Lead collaborates with Community Health Directors and KO eHealth on hiring, training and certification, supervising, and evaluating CTCs as well as maintaining policy manuals for the CTC role. The CTC Lead works with communities and KO eHealth management to advance telemedicine and eHealth services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Community Telemedicine Lead:

Oversees the Work of Community Telemedicine Coordinators (CTCs)

- Leads recruitment, hiring, onboarding, certification, and ongoing training of CTCs in collaboration with Community Health Directors and relevant eHealth team members.
- Provides functional supervision, including performance management, annual evaluations, development of improvement plans, and ensuring compliance with KO eHealth and community policies, procedures, and daily operational requirements.
- Facilitates regular meetings, supports scheduling and coverage, conducts community visits, and collaborates with Clinical Services Lead and Virtual Care Educator team to ensure effective service delivery and issue resolution.

Maintains CTC Policy Manuals and Record Keeping

- Develops, updates, and communicates CTC policies, procedures, and orientation materials in collaboration with the Clinical Services Lead.




- Maintains knowledge of community-specific health and human resources policies and prepares and updates orientation materials to ensure CTCs are informed of current policies and procedures.
- Oversees administrative processes including timesheets approvals and leave management UKG, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payroll coordination.
- Provides regular reporting to leadership on CTC activities, issues, and solutions, and ensures alignment with community and organizational policies.

Facilitates Conferences and Forums for CTC Capacity Development

- Supports the planning and delivery of conferences, training sessions, and workshops in collaboration with the Virtual Care Educator to enhance CTC capacity.
- Identifies and promotes opportunities for career development, career growth, and skills enhancement for CTCs and eHealth Assistants.

Supports Community Development of Telemedicine and eHealth Services

- Builds and maintains strong relationships with community leadership, health directors, and healthcare staff to support telemedicine initiatives.
- Promotes and expands the use of telemedicine and eHealth services through community engagement and education in collaboration with internal partners.

Conducts Community Engagement and Outreach

- Engages community members and stakeholders through site visits, presentations, and demonstrations to increase awareness and utilization of telemedicine services.
- Collaborates with local CTCs and participates in meetings with Chief and Council, schools,



and other organizations as requested.

Demonstrates Commitment to the KOeTS Team

- Actively participates in staff meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives, contributing to high-quality service delivery.
- Maintains professional development and contributes to reporting, evaluation processes, and continuous improvement activities.
- Demonstrates a commitment to service excellence.
- Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned by the eHealth Assistant Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in health, human resources, or related field, or; equivalent experience working in a management capacity
- Experience working with First Nations communities
- Experience working within health systems
- Experience in managing staff including hiring, supervision, and evaluation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and values along with the geographical and health care challenges of First Nations in the Sioux Lookout district
- Ability to speak a First Nations dialect (Ojibway, Oji-Cree or Cree) is considered an asset
- Proficient with computer technology
- Superior communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with effective conflict resolution skills
