Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive successful project planning from the ground up. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing comprehensive bids, and collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

- Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop precise cost estimates
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bid proposals
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and pricing analysis for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and terms that align with project budgets
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions and project timelines
- Assist in the development of bid strategies that maximize competitiveness while safeguarding profitability
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, bid submissions,



and related documentation for future reference
- Assist Project Managers with Subcontract award process and documentation.

Experience

- Proven experience in construction estimating within commercial or heavy civil projects. PQS designation an asset.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid/OST; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms
- Solid understanding of project management principles and construction scheduling
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong analytical skills
- Prior experience working on diverse construction projects that require accurate pricing and cost control
