Role Description The Construction Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Montreal, QC, responsible for overseeing residential, multiresidential and commercial construction and renovation projects from planning through completion. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating project schedules, managing subcontractors and site personnel, monitoring progress, and ensuring work meets safety, quality, and building code standards. The role involves preparing and tracking budgets, reviewing estimates, managing change orders, and controlling costs to keep projects on time and within financial targets.
The Construction Project
Manager will communicate regularly with clients, architects, engineers, and suppliers, resolve onsite issues,
and maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Project Coordination and Project Management to plan, organize, and track multiple construction projects.
- Proficiency in Construction Project Management and Construction Management to oversee onsite activities, quality, safety, and compliance.
- Experience with Budgeting and cost control to manage estimates, track expenses, and support financial decision-making.
- Relevant construction experience, preferably in residential or multifamily projects in an urban environment.
- Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and health and safety regulations in Quebec.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
- Proficiency with project management and construction software (e.g., MS Project, scheduling tools, or equivalent).
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
