About Us
NextGen200 Construction is a licensed Sudbury-based general contractor specializing in residential renovations and secondary dwelling unit (SDU) conversions. We turn basements and underused space into finished, code-compliant living suites — full gut to final finishes. We're a small, hands-on crew that takes pride in doing quality work and finishing it properly.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a reliable, hard-working Construction Worker to join our renovation crew full-time, year-round. This is a hands-on all-rounder role: if you enjoy seeing a project go from demolition to a finished suite and you like variety in your day, you'll fit in well here.
What You'll Be Doing
- Demolition, site preparation, and daily job-site cleanup
- Framing interior walls, bulkheads, and partitions
- Installing insulation, vapour barrier, drywall, and resilient channel
- Installing flooring (LVP, tile, underlay) and subfloor
- Finish carpentry: doors, trim, baseboard, casing, and millwork installation
- Assisting licensed trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) with rough-in and finishing
- Loading, unloading, and moving materials to and around the site
- Operating hand and power tools safely and correctly
- Following all site safety procedures and keeping work areas clean and organized
What You Bring
Required
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle to get to job sites
- Ontario Working at Heights certification (MLITSD-approved) and WHMIS
- Your own basic hand tools and CSA-approved safety boots
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the day
- Dependable, on time, and able to work with minimal supervision
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of residential construction or renovation experience
- Experience with basement finishing or secondary suite conversions
- Framing and/or drywall experience
- Additional safety tickets (First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Fall Protection)
- Own truck or trailer
We'll also consider motivated candidates with less experience who show up, work hard, and want to learn the trade — we're willing to train the right person.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly wage, paid weekly
- Full time, year-round work — not seasonal layoffs
- Overtime available
- Variety of projects across Greater Sudbury
- Small crew, direct access to ownership, and real opportunity to grow with the company
- Safety-first work environment with proper equipment and training support
How to Apply Apply directly through Indeed with your resume. Please include your available safety tickets and a brief note on your renovation experience. We review every application and contact qualified candidates promptly.
NextGen200 Construction is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals, and accommodation is available upon request throughout the recruitment process
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
Work Location: In person
