Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $60,000 CAD annually

About the RoleOrganic Checkout is looking for a Content Editor & Specialist to join our growing content and SEO team.

This is a hands-on editorial role focused on researching, writing, editing, and improving content used across SEO, GEO, AI search, and online reputation management campaigns.

The role is best suited for someone with strong writing and editing experience who understands how to turn research, strategy, and client information into clear, accurate, high-quality content.

This is not a social media content position. The majority of the work is focused on long-form website content, editorial content, SEO-driven content, AI search optimization, and reputation management.

You’ll work closely with our SEO strategists and account managers to ensure content is accurate, well structured, aligned with campaign goals, and strong enough to perform across both traditional search and emerging AI platforms.

The position also has room to grow into a more senior editorial or content leadership role as the agency and content team expand.

Responsibilities

- Write, edit, and improve long-form website content across multiple client industries.
- Edit drafts for clarity, structure, tone, grammar, accuracy, flow, and overall quality.
- Rewrite weak or AI-generated drafts into natural, polished, human-quality content.
- Write SEO-optimized blogs, articles, service pages, product/category content, and resource guides.
- Create local and location-based landing pages for law firms and other service businesses.
- Produce high volumes of parasite SEO and reputation management content across relevant third-party publishing platforms.
- Create content designed to support branded search results, online reputation management, and search result suppression strategies.
- Write supporting articles, profiles, features, and other editorial content used within reputation management campaigns.
- Research keywords, topics, competitors, branded search results, search intent, and client industries before creating content.
- Translate SEO briefs and strategy into useful, readable, well-structured content.

- Optimize content for traditional search engines, AI search platforms, GEO, and answer engines.
- Structure content to improve its likelihood of being referenced, summarized, or cited by AI platforms.
- Incorporate FAQs, entities, supporting information, and relevant topical coverage naturally.
- Research unfamiliar or complex subjects and explain them accurately in clear, conversational language.
- Fact-check AI-assisted drafts and ensure claims are accurate before publication.
- Identify weak, repetitive, generic, or inaccurate AI-generated content and improve it substantially.
- Maintain a natural editorial voice instead of simply publishing raw AI-generated content.
- Look for opportunities to incorporate original, first-party, or client-specific information into content.
- Refresh and improve existing content based on SEO performance, reputation management objectives, and changing search opportunities.
- Follow E-E-A-T and on-page SEO best practices.
- Ensure consistency in tone, quality, formatting, and editorial standards across client content.
- Collaborate with SEO strategists and account managers to ensure content aligns with the client's overall strategy.
- Handle revisions and feedback efficiently while maintaining a high editorial standard.
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines across different client accounts.

Requirements
- 2+ years of professional writing, editing, or digital content experience.
- Robust hands-on editing experience.
- Exceptional written English and a strong command of grammar, structure, tone, and clarity.
- Experience editing and improving other writers' work, not only creating content from scratch.
- Experience writing or editing long-form website content.
- Ability to identify weak writing and improve it without losing the intended meaning or voice.

- Strong research and fact-checking skills.
- Ability to work across unfamiliar or complex industries.
- Comfortable producing and editing content at volume without sacrificing quality.
- Comfortable working with AI tools as part of the writing, editing, and research process.
- Ability to distinguish between useful AI assistance and inaccurate, generic, or low-quality AI-generated content.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple client assignments and deadlines in an agency environment.
- Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions when needed.
- Able to work independently in a remote environment.

- NeuronWriter, Surfer SEO, or similar content optimization platforms.
