Position Title: Crew Truck Operator
Davco Industrial is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Crew Truck Operator to support construction and maintenance projects within the Alberta oil and gas industry. This role is responsible for transporting equipment and materials to job sites, coordinating daily field activities, and supervising a small crew to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client specifications and company standards.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, thorough knowledge of oilfield construction and maintenance operations, and a commitment to promoting a positive safety culture. The Crew Truck Operator must be capable of reading technical drawings, mentoring apprentices and labourers, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations, client requirements, and Davco Industrial safety standards.
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work scopes.
- Coordinate daily activities and provide leadership to assigned crew members.
- Transport piping, structural components, tools, and equipment to and from job sites using company vehicles.
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine inspections of vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
- Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment required for projects are available and mobilized safely.
- Operate equipment including Bobcats, aerial work platforms, telehandlers, and pickers as required and authorized.
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and construction activities on oil and gas facilities.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain hydraulic torqueing and bolting equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Davco Industrial safety policies, client site requirements, and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Participate in hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, field-level risk assessments, and incident reporting.
- Coach, mentor, and provide direction to apprentices and labourers.
- Maintain skilled communication with supervisors, coworkers, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Perform general labour duties as required.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times.
Terms of Employment:
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Compensation: Competitive wage based on experience and company pay band
- Hours of Work: Typically 10-hour shifts plus travel as required
- Schedule: Project-dependent and may include overtime, shift work, weekends, or call-outs
- Overtime: Paid in accordance with Alberta Employment Standards
- Work Location: Wainwright trading area and surrounding oilfield locations
- Benefits: Company benefits package (if applicable)
- A & D Test: Successfully pass pre-access A & D test as required by client specifications
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of oil and gas construction, maintenance, or related industry experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising field personnel considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of oilfield facility construction, maintenance, and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
- Experience hauling materials, trailers, and oilfield equipment.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
