Crowdfunding Campaign ProducerPaintbox — Original Animated Short FilmFreelance / Contract | Remote | Immediate Start | September 2026 Campaign
We’re looking for someone to help us get Paintbox funded.Paintbox is an original 4-minute animated short film currently in production. We are preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign in September 2026 to raise the remaining funds required to complete the film.
We are looking for a Crowdfunding Campaign Producer with experience in Kickstarter, film, animation, games, media, or creative production to help build, launch, and actively manage the campaign.
This is a hands-on role.
We are not looking for someone to simply give us marketing advice. We are looking for someone who can take the campaign, organize it, execute the plan, and help drive it toward its funding goal.
What You'll OwnWorking directly with the filmmaker/producer, you will help take Paintbox from its current campaign-development stage through launch and the full funding period.
Before Launch
- Complete and organize the Kickstarter campaign
- Review the existing campaign materials and identify what's missing
- Develop and refine the campaign structure
- Write, edit, and optimize campaign copy
- Help establish reward tiers and backer incentives
- Organize campaign images, artwork, video, credits, production information, and other assets
- Develop the funding breakdown and campaign presentation
- Develop FAQs and backer information
- Recommend improvements to the campaign page
- Prepare the campaign launch schedule
- Develop a pre-launch promotional strategy
- Help build awareness and potential backer interest before launch
During the CampaignYou will actively help manage the campaign throughout the funding period.
Responsibilities may include
- Monitor campaign performance
- Track pledges, backers, traffic, and engagement
- Coordinate campaign updates
- Prepare social media content and promotional materials
- Coordinate outreach to potential backers and relevant communities
- Identify animation, film, creative, and crowdfunding audiences
- Develop outreach opportunities with animation professionals, schools, communities, creators, and media
- Maintain campaign communications
- Recommend changes to messaging or strategy based on campaign performance
- Help create momentum around campaign milestones
- Keep the campaign organized and moving forward
Campaign StrategyWe want someone who can think beyond simply posting a Kickstarter link. You should be able to help answer questions such as:
Who is most likely to support Paintbox?
How do we reach them?
What should we say?
What should we offer?
What should we post today?
What isn't working?
What can we change to improve the campaign?
What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate has experience in one or more of the following:
- Kickstarter or crowdfunding
- Independent film
- Animation production
- Game development
- Film marketing
- Digital marketing
- Social media campaigns
- Audience development
- Creative production
- Community building
You should be:
- Highly organized
- Proactive and self-directed
- A solid writer and communicator
- Comfortable working with filmmakers and artists
- Comfortable managing multiple moving parts
- Able to work independently
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects
- Familiar with digital marketing and social platforms
- Comfortable working with creative assets
- Interested in animation and independent filmmaking
Animation or film-production experience is strongly preferred. Kickstarter ExperiencePrevious crowdfunding experience is a major advantage.

- Existing campaign materials
- Production information and budget
- Creative direction
- Access to required campaign materials
- Final approval on public-facing creative and financial decisions
Your job is to organize these materials, identify what is missing, develop the campaign, and help execute it.

Campaign duration: Approximately 30 days The successful candidate should be available to work consistently throughout the campaign period.

About PaintboxPaintbox is an original 4-minute animated short film about creativity, individuality, and the conflict between color and conformity.
The film is being developed and produced by an experienced animation professional with nearly two decades of experience across feature animation, television, visual effects, and games, including work associated with major animation and entertainment production partners.
This is an opportunity to become part of the production team at a critical stage: turning an original animated film into a successfully funded independent production.
