Part-time Description Job Title: Custodian

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Facilities Revision Date: March 2026

Grade: 7 Starting Pay Range: $15.00 - $19.80/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y and helps to ensure facilities are well maintained and clean for staff and members of all backgrounds and abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Must maintain and keep building facility and property in clean and orderly condition such as trash removal, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming.

· Ensure all restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, program rooms, fitness centers and outside grounds are clean and secure.

· Move furniture and equipment as required to properly and thoroughly clean areas including windows.

· Assist with event set ups and breaking down of seating and equipment.

· Ensure bathroom supplies including and not limited to, toilet tissue, towels, soap etc. are refilled.





· During winter months be prepared to assist with snow removal.

· Perform light maintenance tasks as assigned.

· Notify managers regarding the need for repairs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Occasional work outside the facility to clean the facility grounds such as removal of debris and during inclement weather requiring snow removal.

· Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours.

· Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders of different heights.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

· Ability to pass a background check.

· Must possess a valid State of Vermont driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

· High school graduate or equivalent preferred

· Previous custodial experience preferred.

Salary Description $15 - $19.80/hour
