Always Helpful: We're service-minded, proactive, and genuinely care about our clients' success.Position SummaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Data Center Network Engineer to join our Data Center Operations team, supporting a client engagement covering the Americas region.This is a 12–18 month engagement, ideal for someone early in their data center career who is eager to build hands-on experience and grow under the guidance of senior engineers.The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1.5 years of hands-on experience in a data center environment - comfortable with cross-connects and general connectivity - and must be based in and available to work within Americas (North &
- South America) time zones, as this is a firm requirement of the role.Any exposure to networking fundamentals (routing/switching) is a bonus, not a requirement: full training is provided on the job.Role at a Glance●

- Target Start Date: Within 4–6 weeks of offerKey Responsibilities Support daily operations of data center network infrastructure, including structured cabling systems, fiber optics, patch panels, and cross-connects.●
- Perform and validate rack and stack activities, cable patching, and connectivity troubleshooting.●
- Utilize DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools to manage asset tracking, power capacity, space utilization, and connectivity records.●
- Assist with configuring and troubleshooting network devices, under the guidance of senior engineers.●
- Create, review, and execute detailed MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for maintenance, installations, and infrastructure changes.●
- Support coordination of onsite technicians and third-party vendors to help ensure work is executed according to scope, quality, and safety standards.●
- Manage incidents, service requests, and change tickets through the Jira ticketing system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.●
- Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, documentation, and infrastructure records.●
- Participate in change management processes and support scheduled maintenance windows.●
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within data center operations.
Required Qualifications ●
- Minimum 1.5 years of hands-on experience in a data center environment, including cross-connects, structured cabling,
and general connectivity.●
- Based in and available to work within Americas (North &
- South America) time zones - this is a firm requirement, no exceptions.●
- Physical patching experience within a data center environment.●
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.●
- Eagerness to learn and grow into a full network engineering role, with support from senior team members.
Preferred
Qualifications●
- Basic understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking concepts (VLANs, routing/switching fundamentals) — any "logical"
experience is a bonus; full training is provided on the job.●
- CCNA certification or equivalent foundational networking knowledge.●
- Exposure to IX (Internet Exchange) or transit connectivity, and interconnect delivery troubleshooting.●
- Knowledge of optic types and compatibility, data center colocation services, and creating Letters of Authorization (LOAs).●
Experience working with customers or partners in an external-facing capacity.●
- Familiarity with ITIL-based service management practices and DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) platforms.●
Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, transceivers) and physical data center environments - this is a strong plusCore Competencies●
