Role Description The Dental Therapy Instructor is a full-time, on-site teaching role based in Canada at a Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus. This position involves planning and delivering classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in dental therapy, ensuring that course content aligns with program outcomes and professional standards. The instructor will supervise and evaluate learners in clinical and simulated settings, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.

Responsibilities include developing and updating lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials, integrating current evidence-based dental practices and relevant regulations. The role also encompasses participation in program and curriculum development, collaboration with colleagues and community partners,



and contribution to institutional initiatives that support student success and quality education.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in dental therapy or dental hygiene, with current professional licensure or eligibility for licensure in the applicable Canadian jurisdiction.
- Experience in clinical practice, including preventive, restorative, and therapeutic dental procedures, as well as patient education and oral health promotion.
- Knowledge of current infection prevention and control standards, safety protocols, and professional ethics in dental care settings.
- Post-secondary teaching or clinical instruction experience, or a strong interest in and aptitude for adult education and competency-based teaching.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging lessons, labs, and clinical experiences, including development of assessments and learning resources.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills, with the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds in a respectful and inclusive manner.
- Proficiency with educational technologies, digital learning platforms, and basic computer applications used in curriculum delivery and record keeping.
- Commitment to applied learning, continuous career development, and collaboration with colleagues, community partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Relevant academic credentials, typically a diploma or degree in Dental Therapy, Dental Hygiene, Dentistry, or a closely related field; an advanced degree in education or health sciences is an asset.
- Experience with curriculum development, applied research, or quality improvement projects in health or dental education is considered
