The Opportunity:

Custody, Supervision, and Rehabilitation Services is seeking a motivated, independent, innovative and client focused leader to join the Health Services team.

Reporting to the Director of Health Administration, the successful candidate is responsible for providing leadership to the provincial health care service team, including clinical nurse educators and supporting operational counterparts for successful implementation of health care services. As well as providing training, information sharing and facilitation of group sessions as needed for orientation and education; in addition to consultations with staff and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Conducts evidence-based best practice research, jurisdictional scans, and analyzes needs, trends and program outcomes, and consults with internal and external stakeholders.
- Reviews health services in responding to client complaints and appeals, ministerial and other referrals regarding client health care.
- Provides leadership, training, information sharing and facilitates group sessions for orientation and educational presentations and consults with team and external stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of correctional health and/or primary health services. Understand the roles and functions of health services in primary health type settings. Including knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, regulations and clinical documentation standards and practices of NP's, RPNs, RNs, and LPNs
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
- In-depth understanding of public health principles, health care regulations, and the operational realities of correctional institutions.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary health teams in high-pressure, unionized environments, with a focus on operational excellence and staff engagement.
- Proven ability to foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture that promotes trust, psychological safety, and collaboration.
- Strong track record of building effective relationships with internal departments, external health partners, and community organizations.




- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in dynamic and unpredictable environments, exercising sound judgement in complex ethical situations.
- In-depth understanding of public health principles, health care regulations, and the operational realities of correctional institutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience supporting and implementing operational change management initiatives within a complex service environment.
- Demonstrated success in implementing health initiatives and monitoring their impact using data and performance metrics
