Context of the project: The DRE is responsible for ensuring that all supplier or designer-produced parts meet engineering and quality requirements on the plant. They are basically the ears and eyes of the engineering team. For this position the DRE will have to operate in both the Windsor and the Sterling heights assembly plant
Day-to-day activities:
- Review several engineering and compliance documents for each part:
- COE checklist (Center of Excellence checklist)
- DVPNR (Design Validation Plan & Report)
- DFMEA (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
- Ensure that requirements are fully met before release
- Work cross-functionally with multiple internal teams
- Use CAD viewing tools to validate engineering details (no modeling/designing required)
Candidate Requirements
Must-haves (3–5 max):
- Ability to run CAD tools (Teamcenter Visualizer, Siemens NX/Unigraphics)
- Experience with PLM systems, specifically Teamcenter
- Understanding of engineering documentation (DFMEA, DVPNR, COE checklist)
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
Tools / software / methodology / certification:
- CAD tools: Teamcenter Visualizer, Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
- PLM: Teamcenter
- Plans: Unigraphics
Soft skills:
- Proactive
- Ability to work across several different teams
- Strong communication skills

In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this opportunity. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including skilled experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $75,000 - $80,000 per year.
