Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior DevOps / AWS Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise cloud platforms, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, application runtime environments, integration platforms, databases, search services, and identity/access management .

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure and deployment pipelines, supporting Linux and containerized workloads, managing production environments, and ensuring secure and reliable connectivity between cloud applications and external healthcare and enterprise systems.

This role requires strong AWS platform engineering experience combined with production troubleshooting, automation, infrastructure management, and stakeholder collaboration skills. Public sector experience is mandatory , and experience within healthcare or digital health environments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions , including reusable workflows, setting promotion, release automation, and deployment troubleshooting.
- Develop, maintain, review, and troubleshoot infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK , including CDK solutions developed in Python and JavaScript .
- Deploy, configure, maintain, monitor, scale, and troubleshoot workloads running on Amazon EC2 and Amazon ECS .
- Support Linux-based and containerized application environments across development, testing, staging, and production.
- Troubleshoot application runtime and infrastructure issues involving Tomcat, Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Linux, containers, networking, logs, and runtime dependencies .
- Build, maintain, patch, test, and promote standardized Linux machine images using AWS EC2 Image Builder .
- Deploy, configure, maintain, upgrade, monitor, and troubleshoot Mirth Connect running on Amazon ECS, including ECS services, task definitions, Mirth channels and connectors, JVM/runtime configuration, certificates, secrets, logging, and external system connectivity.
- Administer and support PostgreSQL or comparable enterprise database platforms , including connectivity, access, backup and recovery, performance, capacity, and operational troubleshooting.
- Administer and troubleshoot Amazon OpenSearch Service , including cluster health, indexes, mappings, storage, capacity,



access controls, performance, scaling, upgrades, and operational issues.
- Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot AWS messaging, streaming, and storage services including Amazon SQS, Amazon Data Firehose, and Amazon S3 .
- Maintain enterprise IAM and SMART on FHIR/OAuth2/OIDC configurations using NetIQ or comparable identity and access management platforms.
- Configure and troubleshoot OAuth2/OIDC clients, redirect URIs, scopes, authorization and token endpoints, roles, permissions, application access, service identities, secrets, and authentication flows.
- Support secure connectivity between AWS applications and external healthcare and enterprise systems, including eReferral platforms, master data management services, and event-driven integration components.
- Support infrastructure and operational dependencies associated with FHIR Pub/Sub, FHIR Subscriptions, and event-driven integration patterns .
- Configure and maintain application secrets, certificates, IAM permissions, environment-specific settings, and secure runtime configuration.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and operational diagnostics using Amazon CloudWatch and related AWS services.

Must-Have Requirements: DevOps, CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code-

- Strong senior-level DevOps, Cloud Platform, or Site Reliability Engineering experience supporting complex enterprise applications.
- Strong hands-on experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines .
- Experience with reusable GitHub Actions workflows, release automation, environment promotion, deployment automation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code experience using:
- AWS CloudFormation
- AWS CDK
- Python
- JavaScript

AWS Platform Engineering-

- Strong hands-on experience with Amazon EC2 and Amazon ECS .
- Experience deploying, configuring, monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting Linux and container-based workloads.




- Experience with AWS EC2 Image Builder for standardized Linux machine images and automated image pipelines.
- Experience with AWS operational services including:
- Amazon CloudWatch
- AWS IAM
- AWS Secrets Manager
- Amazon S3
- Amazon SQS
- Amazon Data Firehose
- Amazon EC2
- Amazon ECS

Application & Runtime Support-

- Strong troubleshooting experience with:
- Linux
- Tomcat
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Node.js
- Containerized application runtimes
- Application configuration
- Networking and connectivity
- Logs and runtime dependencies

Mirth Connect-

- Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Mirth Connect in Amazon ECS .
- Experience with Mirth channels and connectors, ECS services and task configurations, JVM/runtime behavior, secure endpoints, certificates, secrets, logging, monitoring, and external system connectivity.

Database & Search Platforms-

- Experience administering PostgreSQL or comparable enterprise database platforms , including:
- Connectivity and access
- Backup and recovery
- Performance monitoring
- Capacity management
- Configuration
- Operational troubleshooting
- Experience administering Amazon OpenSearch Service , including:
- Cluster health

IAM, SMART on FHIR & Security-

- Experience maintaining enterprise IAM and SMART on FHIR/OAuth2/OIDC configurations using NetIQ or a comparable IAM platform .
- Hands-on experience with:
- OAuth2/OIDC client configuration
- Redirect URIs
- Authorization endpoints
- Token endpoints
- Roles and permissions
- Application access
- Authentication troubleshooting

Healthcare & Enterprise Integration-

- Experience supporting secure cloud connectivity and integration endpoints between applications and external healthcare or enterprise systems.
- Experience with eReferral platforms, healthcare integration systems, enterprise master data management, or comparable environments .
- Experience supporting integration dependencies involving FHIR Pub/Sub, subscriptions, APIs, messaging, or event-driven architectures.

Public Sector Experience-

- Public sector experience is mandatory.

Education-

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and extensive relevant technical experience may be considered.
