ChainPatrol

Canada

Who are we?

ChainPatrol is a venture-backed brand protection platform. Our technology detects and removes the scammers, fake accounts, and phishing sites impersonating the world's biggest brands, at scale and around the clock.

AI has made brand impersonation faster, cheaper, and more convincing than ever. Deepfakes, cloned sites, and fake support accounts now spin up in minutes. We're the ones stopping them.

We're a fast-paced startup, and we're growing quickly. Revenue is climbing every quarter, and we're expanding into current industries like fintech, iGaming, and consumer brands.

Our founders and leadership team have built and sold multiple companies before, and they're doing it again here.

Our investors include A16z Crypto, CMT Digital, Castle Island Ventures, Coinbase and Consensus.

About the role

You own marketing. Strategy, budget, team, and marketing-sourced pipeline.

Right now marketing is a small team executing well without a strategy layer on top. You build that layer, then build the programs underneath it: demand gen, content, social, organic and AI search, conference strategy, vertical launches, sales enablement.

You report to our Head of GTM. You are the top of the marketing org and it grows underneath you. What the reporting line actually means in practice is that you sit next to sales and BD rather than across from them.

You see the pipeline, the call notes, and the deal feedback directly, and you are measured on pipeline rather than on impressions.

This is a Series A company, so you are close to the work. The person who does well here was writing the copy, building the pages, and running the campaigns themselves within the last two years, and can still do it when it needs doing

Read this first:

We are looking for one specific person: someone who was one of the first marketing hires at a venture-backed B2B software company and built the function from nothing.

If your career has been mostly agency-side, or mostly on large brand and corporate marketing teams, please don't apply. Nothing against that work. It is a different job.

Four things you own:

1. What we say. Category positioning and the vertical launches behind our expansion into fintech, iGaming, and consumer brands. You decide how we describe the problem and why we are the answer, and you build the pages, campaigns, and sales assets that carry it.

2. How buyers find us. Organic search, AI search, social, and conferences. Whether we get surfaced when a security lead asks an AI tool about brand impersonation, and whether our presence turns into conversations instead of followers.

3. What converts them. Demand gen end to end: paid, lifecycle, landing pages, conversion. You own the marketing-sourced pipeline number and the decision to kill what is not producing.

4. Who does the work. You are central to how this team gets built. You have a real say in what we hire for, what we contract out, and what stays in house, and you hold the standard for what ships.

The Bar

These are hard requirements, not preferences.

- You built a marketing function that did not exist.

You were an early marketing hire at a venture-backed B2B software company. You wrote the first positioning, you've built the first funnels, and hired the first people.

- Your experience is mostly in-house, not agency-side. Agency time in your background is fine. If it is the bulk of your last five years, this is not the right role, because building a function inside a company is a different job than serving clients from outside one.

- You shipped the work yourself within the last two years. You wrote the pages, built the campaigns, edited the assets. Directing people who did it does not count.

- 5 to 8 years in marketing, most of it in-house at companies under 250 people.

- Current hands-on fluency with the stack. HubSpot, Figma, Ahrefs or Semrush, Lovable or similar, and LLMs in your daily workflow. Not "I managed people who used it."

- Craft in writing, judgment in design. You can draft a landing page, a LinkedIn post, and a sales one-pager in the same day, and you can tell the difference between work that ships and work that lands.

Do not apply if:

- You ran one channel inside a larger team
- You inherited a marketing function rather than built one
- You want to set strategy and hand execution to someone else
- You need process and precedent to already exist
- You will only take a role that reports directly to a CEO or a CMO

Compensation and logistics

- Competitive salary + equity participation
- Performance bonus tied to pipeline and revenue
- Health benefits and a learning budget
- Toronto office at Front and Spadina, 2 days in office
- Some travel for conferences and industry events (valid passport required)
