PPosition: Supply Educator Assistant – On-Call (French Speaking)Job Requirements

- Early Childhood Education Assistant Diploma/Certificate
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting preferred
- Current First Aid & CPR (including Infant) Certificate
- Immunization Records & Criminal Reference Check
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 is an asset
- Fluency in French is required
- Must be available to accept on-call supply shifts based on the needs of the school
- Must be comfortable working with different age groups and classrooms

The Employee will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers and assisting with the daily care, supervision, and programming of children, including but not limited to:

Classroom Support:

- Assist teachers in implementing the AVMS curriculum and Montessori philosophy.
- Support daily indoor and outdoor activities and classroom routines.
- Assist with preparing and organizing classroom materials and activities.
- Assist children with washroom routines, dressing, meals, and other daily needs.
- Support French-language communication and activities when required.

Child Supervision & Safety:

- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Assist teachers with supervision and ensure staff-to-child ratios are maintained.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.




- Communicate with children in French when appropriate and support their exposure to the French language.
- Accompany children on field trips and school activities as required.

Team Collaboration:

- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
- Communicate any concerns regarding children's needs or development to the classroom teacher or Supervisor.
- Follow all Angus Valley Montessori Schools policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Ideal Candidate
- Caring, patient, and passionate about working with children.
- Fluent in French and comfortable communicating with children in French.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with availability.
- Able to accept shifts on short notice when needed.
- Able to adapt quickly to different classrooms, age groups, and routines.
- Excellent organization, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a Montessori environment.

Assets
- Montessori experience or knowledge of Montessori philosophy.
- Additional language skills.
- Experience in enrichment activities such as music, dance, yoga, karate, or visual arts.
