Job Summary:

Nienkämper International Inc. is looking for a reliable and experienced Edge Bander Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will operate an IMA Novimat Concept Edge-Banding Machine to produce high-quality components for commercial furniture. The ideal candidate will have experience operating edge-banding equipment and a strong understanding of machine setup, adjustments, quality control, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

· Set up and operate the IMA Novimat Concept edge-banding machine.

· Adjust machine settings based on the material, edge tape, glue, and production requirements.

· Operate the machine efficiently while maintaining production and quality standards.

· Process MDF, particleboard, laminate, plastic laminate and other panel materials.

· Apply PVC, ABS, veneer, and other edge-banding materials.

· Monitor glue application, temperature, pressure, feed speed, trimming, and finishing.

· Inspect finished components for quality, accuracy, proper adhesion, and appearance.

· Identify and correct defects such as poor adhesion, glue lines, chipping, and improper trimming.

· Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and machine inspections.

· Assist with changing cutters, blades, glue, and other machine components.

· Troubleshoot basic machine and production problems.

· Read and follow work orders, drawings, specifications, and production instructions.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

· Follow all company health and safety policies and PPE requirements.

· Report equipment problems, material issues, and quality concerns to the Supervisor.

· Meet daily production and quality requirements.

· Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

· Previous experience operating an edge-banding machine is required.





· Experience operating an IMA Novimat Concept is a strong asset.

· 3-5 years of experience in furniture, cabinetry, woodworking, or manufacturing is preferred.

· Strong knowledge of edge-banding processes and materials.

· Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to read and follow production drawings and work orders.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.

· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/handle materials up to 50 lbs.

Hours of Work

· Monday to Thursday: 7:25 a.m. – 4:25 p.m.

· Friday: 7:25 a.m. – 1:25 p.m.

· Overtime: Overtime may be required from time to time based on production requirements and business needs.

Good manual dexterity, attention to detail and hand-eye coordination required

Working Conditions

· Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery

· Use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear is mandatory

· Full time, on-site position

Salary: $ 22.50 - $25.00

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
