Your New Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in developing accurate project estimates and proposals for a variety of electrical and power systems projects. Working closely with customers, vendors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders, you will evaluate project requirements and develop competitive pricing solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to prepare accurate labour, material, and equipment estimates.
- Develop detailed quotations and proposals based on customer requirements and project scope.
- Source pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to support competitive and profitable bids.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to clarify project requirements and define scope.
- Maintain estimating databases and proposal documentation while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Provide technical support and coordination for smaller projects, assisting with issue resolution and project execution as required.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Design Technology, or a related discipline.
- 1-5 years of experience in electrical estimating, quotations, project coordination, or a related technical role.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, construction practices, and project delivery processes.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
