We’re looking for an Engineer to provide technical guidance and oversight across environmental projects, including research and development, spill response, site assessment, and remediation. In this role, you’ll oversee technical project requirements, deadlines, responsibilities, and progress; support field teams and client/regulatory relationships; and act as KBL’s Responsible Member on its Permit to Practice.

What You'll Do

- Provide technical guidance and oversight on environmental projects, ensuring technical reporting meets client and regulatory requirements and project work stays on track.
- Review jurisdictional guidelines, sampling protocols, and analytical data; coordinate annual and daily facility compliance requirements and liaise with regulators.
- Lead and support field staff through project meetings, technical direction, equipment and sample-handling training, and ongoing communication on project needs and challenges.
- Support new project opportunities by attending bidder meetings, defining scope, preparing estimates, budgets, work plans and proposals, obtaining third-party quotes, and meeting submission requirements and deadlines.
- Contribute to research and development, including literature reviews, data analysis, SRED tracking and coordination, grant submissions, business cases and project proformas,



while fulfilling Permit to Practice responsibilities as required.

Who You Are

- You have a Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility to obtain one
- You have a university degree or college diploma in Environmental Sciences or a related field, with specialized knowledge in environmental site assessment and remediation.
- You have experience with soil, water, and air sampling, interpreting analytical results, preparing technical reports, and solving problems in the field.
- You’re comfortable working independently, adapting to change, and finding practical ways to achieve project objectives while maintaining time and budget constraints.
- You’re a strong written and verbal communicator who can work effectively with clients, stakeholders, regulators, First Nations, and internal teams.
- Skilled certifications such as P.Ag, RT.Ag, CET, PMP, or EP are considered an asset.

What You Need

- Ability to travel to KBL's northern and remote project sites on an as-needed basis.
- Ability to perform physically demanding field work at times, including standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, and lifting objects up to 100 lbs.
- Willingness to work in both office and field environments, including exposure to extreme weather, dust, noise, mud, water, smoke, and bacteria.
- First Aid training, or willingness to complete training provided by KBL.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility to obtain one.
