Role Overview The Engineering Project Coordinator will provide project coordination, construction administration and design document support to Z. A. McCarthy Engineering Services Ltd. The Engineering Project Coordinator will work under the direction and supervision of the Principal Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project information, deadlines, deliverables, action items, and outstanding client, contractor, or consultant requirements.
- Support construction administration activities, including shop drawing and submittal logs, RFI tracking, change documentation, meeting minutes, contractor correspondence, site review reports, deficiency lists, and closeout documentation.
- Prepare, revise, and coordinate drawings using direction, markups, field notes, sketches, client information, and technical input provided by the Principal Engineer.
- Conduct and/or assist with site visits by documenting existing conditions, taking measurements, organizing photographs, recording observations, and preparing site notes for review by the Principal Engineer.
- Participate in external and internal coordination meetings, client discussions, and consultant coordination as directed, while ensuring project notes and follow-up items are clearly recorded and tracked.
- Confidentially and professionally handle sensitive project and client information.
- Contribute to process standardization and continuous improvement practices within the firm and maintain organized project files, drawing registers, document control records, templates, standards, and project correspondence.
Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an architectural, engineering, construction, technical, or project administration role.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam.
- Drawing control and drafting experience in MEP, architectural, structural, civil, or related technical disciplines is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple active tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with clients, stakeholders, and co-workers.
- Ability to take initiative, manage time efficiently and complete tasks independently.
