Aspire Learning Academy is looking for a knowledgeable and engaging English tutor to join our team on a part-time basis. We are specifically seeking someone with experience teaching SAT English/Reading/Writing as well as college application and essay writing.

Aspire Learning Academy supports the learning needs of elementary students from JK to Grade 7, and high school students grades 8 to 12. We offer private tutoring (one-on-one lessons) as well as group lessons. We are looking for a tutor to work from our learning centre in West Vancouver.

Required Qualifications

- Strong academic background at an undergraduate level or higher
- 2+ years prior tutoring experience in a independent or small group setting
- Strong background in English, writing, and SAT test prep
- Experience with college applications and essay coaching
- Clear Communication Skills in English
- Criminal Background Check – Cleared

Strong assets include:
- Experience teaching students with learning disabilities and differences
- Teaching certification
- In-progress or completed degree in a related field




- Experience administering standardized academic assessments

:
- Teach SAT English, Reading, and Writing strategies
- Guide students through the college application process
- Support students in writing, editing, and polishing application essays
- Tutors must be able to provide both individual and small group instruction with the goal of academic excellence. (Supplementary materials and curriculum are provided by Aspire Learning Academy.)
- Communicate progress and feedback clearly to students and parents
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings as required or requested.
- Be flexible with providing instruction both in-person and on Zoom
- Commit to a consistent weekly lesson schedule for the duration of an academic term/year.

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
