ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR

Falco Electrical Systems Ltd. — Calgary, Alberta

Falco Electrical Systems Ltd. is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in Calgary.

We are looking for someone with 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience who has a strong understanding of commercial electrical construction and sizeable multifamily projects. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with drawings, specifications, subcontractor and supplier pricing, and developing accurate, competitive bids.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an estimator who wants to be part of a strong, growing electrical contractor and take on increasingly challenging projects throughout Calgary and Southern Alberta.

Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids for commercial and large multifamily projects
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, addenda and tender documents
- Complete quantity takeoffs and develop labour and material estimates
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identify project scope, exclusions, risks and opportunities
- Prepare bid summaries and pricing for review
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintain estimating records and assist with post-bid analysis
- Participate in project turnover and provide estimating information to the project team
- Stay current with material pricing, labour requirements and construction practices

Qualifications & Experience

- 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience




- Experience with commercial and sizeable multifamily projects
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and low-voltage systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while being part of a team
- Experience with Bluebeam and estimating software is an asset
- Electrical trade experience or a Journeyperson/Red Seal background is considered an asset
