We are a progressive dairy and crop farm looking for an experienced Farm Infrastructure & Equipment Operator to join our team.
This is a unique position for someone with experience in excavation, landscaping, construction, drainage, or heavy equipment operation who enjoys a variety of projects and working independently.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, wheel loaders, skid steers, tractors and other heavy equipment
- Complete excavation and grading projects around the farm
- Locate, repair and install agricultural drainage tile
- Clean and maintain ditches and drainage systems
- Excavate and expand ponds
- Demolish old barns and farm structures
- Clean up and improve farm properties
- Complete laneway, site preparation and general earthmoving projects
- Assist with concrete removal and site preparation
- Maintain and inspect equipment being operated
- Assist with general farm equipment operation when infrastructure projects are slower
What We're Looking For
- Previous excavator, landscaping, construction, drainage or heavy equipment experience
- Comfortable operating equipment independently
- Valuable mechanical aptitude
- Able to assess a job and determine how to complete it efficiently
- Takes pride in doing clean, finished work
- Reliable and responsible
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Farm experience is an asset but not required
We are particularly interested in someone who has worked in excavation, landscaping, drainage, sitework or construction and would like a steady, year-round position with a variety of equipment and projects. Full-time, year-round employment.
