Location: Grande Prairie, AB
Contract Duration: 12 Months (with strong potential for extension)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Reporting To: Senior Field Business Technician
About the Opportunity
Manpower is partnering with a leading company in the energy sector to recruit a Field Business Technician for their Grande Prairie office. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Working as part of a collaborative administrative team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the office. You will be responsible for administrative coordination, communications, reception support, and department-wide business support activities. This position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key communication resource within the department, ensuring information is distributed effectively through Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, bulletin boards, and other communication channels.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support, including preparing correspondence, reports, presentations, procedures, spreadsheets, and communication plans.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with various internal departments to support business operations, including Information Technology requests, invoicing, and requisition processing.
- Coordinate office support activities, including maintaining office equipment, troubleshooting issues, initiating service requests, and replenishing supplies.
- Maintain and distribute departmental documentation such as procedures, monitoring guides, organizational charts, handbooks, and manuals.
- Perform reception duties, including greeting visitors, directing inquiries,
and providing excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HS&E;) requirements in all aspects of the role.
- Support a variety of departmental initiatives and special projects as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Minimum high school diploma or GED program is an asset in the role, but not a requirement.
- An Administration or Business Diploma from a technical school or Community College would be preferred.
- Candidates with commensurate experience and training (min 2 years will be considered).
- Proven ability to multi-task - managing multiple tasks with a number of priorities/deadlines.
- Experience in an administrative role would be an asset, oil and gas experience would be preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Experience with SAP would be an asset
- Strong aptitude for detail, disciplined work ethic and the ability to take initiative as well as to accept direction
- Extremely professional, and confidential
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Advanced interpersonal skills such as tact, diplomacy, communication (both verbal and written), and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, varied and diverse environment with constantly changing priorities
