THE ROLE

New Metric Media is seeking a Financial Analyst to help propel the company into its next phase of growth. Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Reporting, you'll thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment and be ready to wear multiple hats as the organization evolves. You'll play an integral role on our accounting and finance team, working closely with the executive, business and legal affairs, production, sales, marketing, and commercial teams.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Production

- General production accounting responsibilities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
- Assist with tax credit estimates, cash flow models, and finance plans for productions in development and pre-production.
- Help track production spending against cash flow forecasts and flag variances for review.
- Support preparation of production cost reports and related analysis for finance and production leadership.
- Assist with financial reporting deliverables required by banks, broadcasters, auditors, CRA, and funding agencies (CMF, NOHFC, and others).




- Help consolidate production-level financials into corporate reporting and the long-range plan.

Budget & Long-Range Plan

- Support with coordination the annual budgeting process.
- Maintain and update a detailed, bottom-up budget model and long-range plan spanning all lines of business, rolling up at the corporate level.
- Review budget and operating benchmarks to support budget and forecast preparation.
- Review historical data, predict future results, and analyze and explain budget variances.
- Work closely with leadership and commercial teams to ensure budget targets align with the Company's strategic goals.
- Assist in preparing and analyzing quarterly and annual rolling forecasts.

Internal & External Reporting

- Prepare actuals vs. budget/forecast reporting, including ad-hoc analysis on results.
- Maintain and update a monthly/quarterly management reporting deck with detailed analysis of actual results.
- Prepare and distribute third-party participations reporting on a quarterly/annual basis.
- Work closely with Business & Legal Affairs to ensure third-party participations are correctly interpreted and calculated.

Corporate & Commercial Initiatives

- General corporate accounting responsibilities including accounts receivable, accounts payable,



and reconciliations.
- Provide analytical and reporting support for the commercial teams, including commercial deal analysis.
- Contribute to ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required.

ABOUT YOU

Experience & Skills

- College diploma or university degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 1–4 years of financial planning/financial reporting/corporate accounting/production accounting experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, conditional formulas).
- Strong financial modeling skills.
- High proficiency with accounting systems.
- Experience with Netsuite is a strong asset.

LOCATION

This is an in office role based in Downtown Toronto. This role is expected to be physically in office 4 days per week.
