About the Opportunity A Vancouver practice with a significant Indigenous law group is seeking a lawyer to advise First Nations clients on governance, treaty, and related matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Advise First Nations governments and organizations on legal matters, including governance and treaty issues
- Support negotiations with government and industry stakeholders
- Draft agreements, policies, and legal opinions for Indigenous community clients
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with First Nations clients




- Collaborate with colleagues across related practice areas (lands, resources, litigation)

Qualifications

- Called to the Bar in British Columbia, in valuable standing
- 5+ years of experience in Indigenous law or a closely related field
- Genuine interest in and sensitivity to working with Indigenous communities
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Willingness to travel to community meetings as required
