HB Connections is seeking an experienced Freelance Product Photographer to support high-volume e-commerce and digital content production, primarily for the Sam Edelman handbag portfolio.

The photographer will be responsible for photographing and editing approximately 150 SKUs per season, along with additional photography required for merchandising, marketing, and the company’s digital portfolio.

Responsibilities

- Photograph and edit handbags for e-commerce, retailer platforms, and digital use.
- Take ownership of product styling, positioning, composition, and angle selection to present each style clearly and effectively.
- Follow direction from Creative Operations regarding key style features, focal points, required views, and overall shooting guidelines for different brands and retail accounts.
- Accurately capture product construction, materials, colors, hardware, proportions, and functional details.
- Maintain consistency across product imagery, including lighting, scale, framing, color accuracy, angles, and overall presentation.
- Prepare polished, retailer-ready images aligned with established brand and account standards.




- Support additional photography needs for merchandising, marketing, and other company initiatives as required.
- Manage a high-volume seasonal workflow while maintaining consistent quality and organization.

Qualifications

- Proven professional experience in product and e-commerce photography.
- Handbag and accessories photography experience is strongly preferred.
- Robust understanding of product styling, lighting, composition, color accuracy, and retouching.
- Ability to interpret creative direction while independently making informed styling and angle decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work consistently across multiple styles, colors, and account requirements.
- Ability to manage deadlines and seasonal production volumes.

The role will be coordinated by Creative Operations and carried out primarily at the HB Connections office in Montreal. A mini studio, lighting equipment, and a Canon EOS RP are available. However, candidates with their own professional camera and equipment with more advanced technical capabilities are preferred.
