We are a busy café located in a hospital setting and are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and customer-focused team player to join our team in a casual position. In this role, you will assist with the daily operations of the café, including preparing food and beverages, operating the cash register, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, restocking supplies, and ensuring our customers have a positive experience.
The hourly wage for this role is $17.60. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation.

As a General Helper, you will:
- Greet customers in a friendly and skilled manner
- Prepare and serve hot and cold food items according to recipe and portion standards
- Operate the cash register and process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately
- Restock food, beverage, condiments and retail merchandise as needed
- Maintain Compass Food safety, sanitation and infection prevention measures.
- Wash and clean dishes, workstations
- Monitor food temperature and accurately record food safety documentation
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail and cleanliness
- Frequent bending and lifting.
- Ability to work in hot and cold preparation environments.
About you:
- Previous food service and cash experience
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team
- Available to work a variety of shifts
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- A positive attitude and a commitment to excellent service are essential
