Senior Google Cloud Application Support Specialist Location: Remote

Responsibilities
- Review and maintain governance and sustainment information for an enterprise Google Cloud platform, including platform status, known gaps, operational risks, dependencies, and priorities.
- Assess Google Cloud platform capabilities against operational, security, compliance, and application onboarding requirements, and identify improvements to documentation, processes, controls, and support models.
- Review security control documentation and validate alignment with applicable Government of Canada, Treasury Board, ITSG-33, and departmental security requirements.
- Support security assessment and authorization activities by preparing, organizing, and validating control evidence, compliance narratives, remediation inputs, and security posture reporting.
- Review network and connectivity patterns, including segmentation, routing, DNS, hybrid connectivity, shared services integration, and controlled access between cloud and on-premises environments.
- Review access management practices for privileged and non-privileged users, including IAM, PAM, least-privilege access, role governance, and just-in-time elevation.
- Validate connectivity and perimeter protection models, including hub-and-spoke networking, shared VPC patterns, VPC service controls, hierarchical firewall policies, and data exfiltration protection.
- Support application onboarding readiness by reviewing intake processes, onboarding guidance, operational prerequisites, documentation requirements, and readiness criteria.
- Maintain operational procedures, support documentation, onboarding materials, change records,
and knowledge transfer content for ongoing platform administration.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to support onboarding readiness, sustainment activities, issue triage, compliance follow-up, and service adoption.
- Produce technical, operational, compliance, and progress reporting, including dashboards, briefing inputs, and metrics on platform health, security posture, and compliance status.
- Prepare transition and sustainment materials, including handover documentation, operational guidance, architecture summaries, and knowledge transfer content.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience providing senior-level computer application support, cloud platform support, or cloud operations support services.
- Holds at least two of the following certifications:
- Google Cloud Certified Qualified Cloud Architect,
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Machine Learning Engineer,
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Network Engineer,
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer,
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or
- Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer.
- 2+ years of experience supporting Google Cloud services, platforms, or projects for a large public sector organization of at least 5,000 employees.
- Experience configuring Google Cloud landing zones, enterprise cloud foundations, platform sustainment, or secure cloud service configuration.
- Experience supporting security authorization, compliance, control evidence, remediation planning, or Authority to Operate activities.
- Experience applying infrastructure as code, automated deployment, configuration management, or repeatable module patterns for controlled platform deployment.
- Experience producing operational support documentation, technical procedures, architecture summaries, handover materials, or knowledge transfer content.
- Experience managing identity and access governance, hybrid networking, DNS, firewall modernization, security monitoring, logging, or SIEM integration.
- Must hold a valid Secret personnel security clearance.
