We are looking for a skilled and reliable Grademan to join our construction team. The Grademan will be responsible for setting and checking grades, elevations, slopes, and drainage on our construction projects.
The ideal candidate has hands-on construction experience, understands grades and elevations, can read site plans, and is comfortable working around heavy equipment and excavation. This is a hands-on position that requires accuracy, teamwork, and the ability to work safely in all weather conditions.
Duties
- Set and check grades, elevations, and slopes.
- Use a laser, grade rod, and level to check grades.
- Read and follow site plans and drawings.
- Give grade information to excavator and equipment operators.
- Check excavation, roadwork, drainage, and underground work for proper grades.
- Work with the Site Supervisor and crew to keep the job on schedule.
- Maintain good quality and accuracy in your work.
- Follow all safety rules and keep the work area clean.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Grademan or similar construction position.
- Valuable understanding of grades, elevations, slopes, and drainage.
- Comfortable using a laser level, grade rod, and level.
- Able to read and understand construction plans.
- Able to work safely around heavy equipment and excavation.
- Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work outdoors in all weather.
- Knowledge of MMCD standards is an asset.
- Valid driver's license is an asset.
- Ability to use GPS (Topcon Brand is an asset)
Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
