Term: Full time, Temporary (2-year term)
Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: $68,000-$80,000 annually

Reporting to the Director, Healthy Aging & Chronic Disease, the Healthy Aging Programs Project Lead is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, evaluation, and scale-up of the Healthy Hips & Knees Program. The role provides project leadership and oversight to ensure program goals, deliverables, timelines, and budget expectations are achieved while supporting the development of standardized, evidence-informed program resources, staff training, referral pathways, and quality assurance processes that promote consistent, high-quality program delivery and participant outcomes across YMCA BC.
The Project Lead works collaboratively with internal teams, healthcare providers, researchers, and community partners to expand program reach through new site implementation and virtual or hybrid delivery models. The role oversees evaluation, data collection, performance measurement, and continuous quality improvement activities, using findings to inform decision-making, strengthen program effectiveness, support funding opportunities, and ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of Healthy Aging programs.
Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:
- Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Healthy Hips & Knees Program Improvement and Scale-up Project, ensuring project objectives, timelines, deliverables, and budget targets are achieved.
- Develop and implement standardized, evidence-informed program resources, facilitator guides, operating procedures, referral pathways, staff training materials, and quality assurance processes to support consistent program delivery across YMCA BC.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of program expansion initiatives, including implementation at new YMCA BC locations and the development of virtual and hybrid program delivery models to increase accessibility and reach.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal staff, healthcare providers, researchers, health authorities, academic institutions, and community organizations to strengthen referrals, collaboration, program quality, and long-term sustainability.
- Lead project evaluation activities, including data collection, performance measurement, analysis, and reporting, to assess program effectiveness, participant outcomes, and achievement of project goals.
- Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement and implement evidence-informed changes to enhance participant experience, program outcomes, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of staff training, educational resources, and knowledge translation activities to support effective referrals, participant onboarding, and consistent program implementation.
- Monitor project risks, issues, and resource requirements, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare project reports, presentations, funding updates, and recommendations for leadership, funders, and other stakeholders, communicating project progress, outcomes, risks, and opportunities.
- Support sustainability planning and future growth opportunities by leveraging evaluation findings, stakeholder feedback, and emerging evidence to inform program development, scale-up, and funding initiatives.
Qualification-you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Public Health, Health Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- A Master's degree and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience leading complex health, community-based, or service delivery projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing project planning, implementation, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, change management, and reporting.
- Experience developing and implementing program standards, operational procedures, training resources, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Experience in designing and overseeing program evaluation, performance measurement, continuous quality improvement, and data-informed decision-making processes.
- Proven experience collaborating with healthcare providers, researchers, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
- Experience in the non-profit, healthcare, recreation, or wellness sector is preferred.
- Strong project management, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and lead cross-functional initiatives involving diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of health promotion, chronic disease prevention and management, healthy aging, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, evaluate program outcomes, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel within British Columbia as required.
- Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
