DJ Mechanical is looking for a motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice to join our shop team in Whitecourt, Alberta.

This is a full time, permanent position for an apprentice looking to build their skills and gain hands-on experience working on a wide variety of trucks, trailers and heavy equipment.

Working alongside experienced technicians, you’ll assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment used across the construction, transportation, forestry, oil & gas, material handling and agricultural industries.

Responsibilities

- Assist with diagnosing, maintaining and repairing trucks, trailers and heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and routine service work
- Assist with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs
- Disassemble, repair and reassemble components under the direction of experienced technicians
- Complete daily work orders and accurately track parts and materials used
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
- Follow company safety procedures and industry standards
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of the shop team
- Continue developing technical skills through hands-on training and mentorship

Qualifications





- Registered Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic apprentice preferred
- 3rd or 4th-year apprentices may be considered
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Previous experience working with trucks or heavy equipment is an asset
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and shop tools
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work safely and follow direction

Pay: $36.00-$40.50 per hour
