Heavy Equipment Technician – Mobile Service Truck | 14/14

Location: Fort McMurray

Rate: $65–$75/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: 14 Days On / 14 Days Off

Shift: Rotating Days & Nights

Service Truck: Fully tooled service truck supplied

Klaas Industries HD Mechanical Services is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to run a fully tooled and equipped Ford F-750 mobile service truck on a 14-on / 14-off rotation in the Fort McMurray oil sands.

This position is suited for an experienced technician who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting in the field, and repairing a variety of heavy mining and construction equipment.

- Large mining excavators
- Haul trucks
- Dozers
- Graders
- Articulated haul trucks
- Loaders
- Other heavy mining and support equipment

Responsibilities

- Operate and Maintain a fully equipped service truck
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems
- Perform field repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections and rebuilds
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently




- Complete service reports and required documentation
- Maintain tooling, parts, and service truck inventory
- Work safely around large mobile equipment in an active mine environment
- Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel
- Work independently and manage repairs from diagnosis through completion

Qualifications

- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification preferred
- Solid heavy equipment repair and troubleshooting experience
- Mining or heavy construction experience preferred
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills
- Experience working independently from a service truck
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong safety mindset and work ethic
- Oil sands / mine-site experience is an asset
- Current mine-site safety tickets are an asset

What’s Provided

- $65–$75/hour contractor rate, depending on experience

Pay: $65.00-$75.00 per hour
