Role Description The High-rise Apprentice Electrician role is a full-time, in office position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The apprentice will support licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in high-rise residential and commercial buildings, including conduit, wiring, panels, fixtures, and related equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with layout and rough-in work, pulling wire and cable, preparing materials and tools, and ensuring work areas are organized and safe.

The role involves reading and following drawings and specifications, adhering to local electrical codes and company standards, and participating in safety meetings and inspections.



The apprentice will also help with testing systems, troubleshooting basic issues, documenting work performed, and collaborating with site supervisors and other trades to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess foundational electrical skills, including basic knowledge of wiring, circuits, and high-rise installation practices.
- Candidates should possess strong safety awareness and the ability to follow OH&S; regulations, site rules, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Candidates should possess the ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications, and to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Candidates should possess good physical stamina and manual dexterity to work at heights, use hand and power tools, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
- Candidates should possess effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with electricians, supervisors, and other trades on busy construction sites.
- Enrollment in or eligibility for an electrical apprenticeship program (e.g., 309A) is preferred, along with completion of relevant pre-apprenticeship or technical training.
- Experience in construction or electrical work on multi-residential or commercial projects is an asset, as is familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code requirements.
- Reliable transportation to job sites in the Greater Toronto Area and a commitment to punctuality, professionalism, and continuous learning are required.
