Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Honing Operator to join our team at Rapistan on the day shift (7:00am – 4:30pm). This role is responsible for setting up and operating honing machines to achieve exact internal hole diameters and surface finishes in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality parts that meet dimensional and quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Understand and accurately work to specified tolerances, particularly for internal hole diameters.
- Set up and operate honing machines to enlarge and finish holes to the dimensions and surface finish specified on engineering drawings.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, and calipers to verify conformance to specifications.
- Make machine adjustments as required to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.




- Possess a basic understanding of grinding operations and machining principles.
- Inspect completed parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall quality.
- Follow established quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine machine maintenance as required.
- Report equipment issues, non-conforming parts, or production concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production schedules and quality objectives.

This compensation range will be based on knowledge and experience Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
