Position: Housekeeper

At Kamloops Hospice Association our mission is to enhance the quality of life of persons and their families facing death and bereavement through skilled and compassionate physical, emotional and spiritual care in the setting of the individual’s choice. Term of Employment: Permanent, part-time

Hours of Employment: 12-15 hours per week, Weekdays and Weekends with the option to work additional hours to cover other team member’s holidays or special events and projects

To keep our building clean, sanitized and secure for patients, staff and families utilizing various industry methodologies.

Duties

· Clean and disinfect solid surfaces withing the facility, including patient rooms, common, volunteer, staff and admin areas, and washrooms. Maintain soft surfaces, such as carpets, furniture and ensuring soft cleaning supplies are cleaned daily.

· Notify management of deficiencies or needed repairs (ie: replacing light bulbs,



broken switches, fixing handles, minor leaks, etc.)

Requirements

- Proven working experience as a cleaner of related/similar experience; will consider candidate with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Takes pride in work and creating a clean and safe environment for patients and families.
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment and tools
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies and safe handling
- Accountable and dependable with a high level of integrity
- High School diploma
- Clean Criminal record check

Working Conditions

- Lift up to 30lbs
- Ability to work at a moderate pace, while on their feet, throughout shift

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
