Job Summary The HR & Finance Generalist is a key cross-functional role responsible for supporting the organization’s human resources and financial operations, with a primary focus on accounts receivable.

The successful candidate will manage a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, payroll processing, advantages administration, employee records, and HR compliance. This role will also oversee day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, account reconciliation, follow-up on outstanding balances, and support for month-end and year-end closing activities.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable balancing multiple priorities and working collaboratively across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources & Talent Acquisition

- Full-Cycle Recruitment: Partner with department leaders to develop job descriptions, post job opportunities, screen and interview candidates, and manage the recruitment process from start to finish.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Coordinate employment offers and agreements, conduct background checks, and manage the onboarding and offboarding process to ensure a positive and consistent employee experience.
- HR Administration: Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential employee records and personnel files.
- HR Compliance: Support the development, implementation, and ongoing review of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable employment and labour legislation.

Payroll, Benefits & Compliance

- Payroll Processing: Administer end-to-end Canadian payroll, ensuring accurate tracking of employee hours, appropriate deductions and tax withholdings, and timely remittances.
- Benefits Administration: Administer the organization's group benefits plans, health spending accounts, and retirement savings plans, serving as a primary point of contact for employees and benefit providers.
- Year-End Compliance:



Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including the preparation and issuance of T4 slips and other required payroll documentation, while ensuring compliance with applicable employment standards and payroll requirements.

Accounts Receivable & Finance

- Accounts Receivable: Manage day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, customer account maintenance, monitoring outstanding balances, following up on overdue accounts, and assisting with audit requirements.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and general ledger reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate and timely resolution.
- Financial Reporting & Closing: Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and the preparation of supporting financial documentation.

Required Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of progressive experience in a combined HR and finance role, with significant experience in accounts receivable and payroll administration.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems, such as ADP, Ceridian, or Humi, as well as cloud-based accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Accounting Seed.
- Experience with Salesforce is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll practices and applicable employment legislation.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Assets & Preferred Qualifications

- Language: Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required. Bilingualism is considered an asset.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the insurance and/or healthcare industry is considered a strong asset.
- Professional Designations: CHRP or CHRL designation and/or Canadian payroll certification are considered strong assets.
