Human Resources Coordinator

$55,000 to 70,000

Monday to Thursday 8.30-5pm & Friday, 8.30-3pm.

Position Summary

Mountain Pacific Homes and Lumber Land Building Systems are seeking to hire a HR Coordinator. The HR Coordinator provides administrative and coordination support across day-to-day Human Resources activities, reporting to and working closely with Head of HR. The position focuses on recruitment support, onboarding, employee documentation, HR administration, occupation health and safety, and general office coordination.

The HR Coordinator supports an organized and positive employee experience by ensuring HR processes, records, office requirements, and new-hire arrangements are completed accurately and efficiently.

This position is currently based in Calgary, Alberta. The Company anticipates relocating the position to Balzac, Alberta, within approximately 6–9 months, at which time onsite employee parking will be provided. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to the Balzac location once the transition occurs. The position may also require occasional travel to other Company locations or worksites based on operational and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Administration

- Provide administrative and coordination support to HR Executive(s) and Ownership on day-to-day HR activities.
- Prepare and maintain employee files, HR documentation, forms, and records.
- Assist with the preparation of employment letters, onboarding documentation, and standard HR correspondence.
- Track required employee documentation and follow up on outstanding information.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee information in accordance with company policies and privacy requirements.
- Assist with HR reporting, tracking, and administrative follow-up.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as directed by the Head of HR and Ownership.
- Support Occupational Health and Safety.

Recruitment Support




- Prepare and maintain employee files, HR documentation, forms, and records.
- Assist with the preparation of employment letters, onboarding documentation, and standard HR correspondence.
- Track required employee documentation and follow up on outstanding information.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee information in accordance with company policies and privacy requirements.
- Assist with HR reporting, tracking, and administrative follow-up.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as directed by HR Executive(s) and Ownership.

Recruitment
- Assist with basic recruitment activities for open positions.
- Post job opportunities on appropriate job boards and recruitment platforms.
- Review applications and resumes against established position requirements.
- Conduct basic candidate pre-screening, where appropriate.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Communicate with candidates regarding interview scheduling and recruitment updates.
- Maintain candidate and recruitment records.
- Conduct reference checks as required.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of employment offers and pre-employment documentation.
- Maintain recruitment trackers and provide status updates as required.

New Hire & Onboarding Coordination
- Coordinate administrative requirements for new employees prior to their start date.
- Prepare and distribute new-hire documentation and ensure required forms are completed.
- Coordinate office access, building passes, keys, and other access requirements.




- Coordinate parking arrangements and requirements for current employees.
- Assist with computer, equipment, and workstation setup in coordination with IT or other internal resources.
- Ensure required equipment, supplies, and workspace arrangements are ready for the employee's first day.
- Coordinate orientation schedules and introductory meetings as required.
- Support first-day onboarding and assist new employees with administrative processes.
- Track completion of onboarding requirements and documentation.

Office Coordination
- Monitor and order office supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers as required.
- Assist with meetings, filing, document preparation, and general office organization.
- Support the organization and general functionality of the office.

Skills & Experience

- A degree or diploma in Human Resources. RPR designation is considered an asset, but not required.
- 1–3 years of HR administration, recruitment, or coordination experience.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience working in the home building, building products, construction, or manufacturing sectors is considered an asset.

Technical Knowledge

- Basic knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and Teams.
- Experience with HRIS or applicant tracking systems is an asset.
